JoYi to Camera Segment 1 of 6
    0.5x

    Before you record

4 quick checks. Takes 60 seconds. Saves you re-recording 15 minutes of backlit footage.
Window in FRONT of you, not behind
If a window is behind you, the camera darkens your face. Turn 180° or sit perpendicular to the window.
    Laptop raised to eye level
Camera should be at or slightly above your eyes. Stack books under the laptop if needed. Looking down = unflattering.
    Warm lamp beside or behind
Put a warm lamp slightly behind/beside you for rim light. It separates you from the background and makes your hair pop.
    Phone on silent, notifications off
Close Slack, Messages, Email. Turn phone face-down or silent. One ping can ruin a take.
